Practical workshop / 8 lessons

Build the evidence that helps you get hired.

An eight-part practical workshop for developers and QA professionals who want to understand how modern teams work, build credible evidence, and feel ready for their next opportunity.

Cohort dates Defined upon registration

1 person is registered. We’ll set the dates and times once 8 people are confirmed, with a maximum of 10 participants.

You will leave with something to show, not just something to remember.

The series follows one small product from idea to production. Each lesson adds a new layer: collaboration, APIs, data, testing, delivery, and the judgment that makes those skills useful at work.

It is designed for early-career and transitioning developers, QA engineers, testers, and self-taught practitioners. Attend the live sessions, work through practical challenges with the group, and build a portfolio of evidence with direct feedback as you go.

01

How software teams actually ship

90 min

Map the path from a ticket to production: requirements, branches, pull requests, testing, deployment, and feedback. You will learn the vocabulary employers expect and identify the parts of the delivery cycle you already know.

By the end: A personal skills map and a realistic target role.

02

Git, GitHub, and collaboration

90 min

Practice the everyday workflow behind most engineering jobs: branching, commits, pull requests, code review, conflict resolution, and clear technical communication. We will turn a small change into a professional pull request.

By the end: A reviewable GitHub contribution with a strong PR description.

03

APIs, HTTP, and debugging

90 min

Understand how modern systems communicate. Read HTTP requests and responses, work with REST APIs, inspect logs, reproduce a bug, and explain your diagnosis without guessing.

By the end: An API test collection and a repeatable debugging checklist.

04

Data, SQL, and system thinking

90 min

Learn enough data modeling and SQL to investigate real defects and build useful features. We will move from a user story to tables, queries, edge cases, and a short explanation of the trade-offs.

By the end: A small schema, useful queries, and a data-focused project story.

05

Testing that gives teams confidence

90 min

Connect testing strategy to risk instead of chasing arbitrary coverage numbers. Developers and QA participants will practice unit, integration, API, exploratory, and regression testing on the same feature.

By the end: A focused test strategy and a set of high-value test cases.

06

CI/CD, cloud basics, and production readiness

90 min

See what happens after code leaves your laptop. Build a simple pipeline, understand environments and configuration, and learn the signals that help a team decide whether a release is safe.

By the end: A basic CI pipeline and a production-readiness checklist.

07

AI-assisted work with engineering judgment

90 min

Use AI tools to accelerate research, test design, documentation, and small implementation tasks while keeping humans responsible for verification, privacy, security, and decisions.

By the end: A practical AI workflow with verification steps you can explain in an interview.

08

Portfolio, interviews, and your next opportunity

90 min

Turn the workshop project into evidence. We will improve your README, practice explaining technical decisions, run a mock interview, and create a job-search plan built around the roles you want next.

By the end: A polished portfolio project, interview stories, and a 30-day action plan.
